Kusheshwarasthan Bird Sanctuary, spreading over 7019.75 acres is unification of 14 water logged villages situated in Kusheshwarasthan block which comes under Biraul sub-division of Darbhanga region. These villages (in combined) have been declared as Kushwshwarasthan Bird Sanctuary due to ecological, geomorphological, faunal, floral and natural importance of whole area. This area got status of Bird Sanctuary under Wild Life Protection Act 1972 (as amended upto 1991). Kusheshwarasthan Bird Sanctuary is home to many local species of birds which can be seen in this bird sanctuary. Apart from that several rare species of endangered birds are also present in this bird Sanctuary.
